Part Time - Georgies: Ice Cream and Specialty Enthusiast
Role Summary:
Our mission is to provide our customers with amazing experiences while they are visiting Jack & Stella. Georgie’s is one of those experiences our customers rave about and this year Georgies looks completely different!! In this position, you will take the lead on managing, promoting, growing, making and serving our ice-cream, smoothies and specially drinks, baked goods and coffees (in the evening). On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for scooping ice cream, making smoothies, taking content for the brand, and delivering amazing customer service to our patrons. You will be the face of Georgie’s and will engage in friendly conversation with anyone that walks by, helping to create a positive customer experience. You will promote all aspects of the brand including, special events such as Doggie Thursdays, and trying to engage the guests out back to try samples of our amazing product. You will have a keen eye for cleanliness and make sure the space is always clean and tidy; maintaining a clean and safe environment is important. Working with the Cafe leads you will ensure the inventory is stocked and organized at all times, managing a stock level chart and ensuring product, cups, straws, etc. are always available.
This job is perfect for you if you want to help build an existing brand and take ownership in running Georgie’s, take initiative during downtime and love to talk and engage with customers. This position requires initiative and constant self starting actions. It is a great role for someone looking to take leadership and commitment in growing the Georgies brand.
Responsibilities:
Daily Procedures:
- Open Georgie's and organize the store front ensuring all signage is out front for both the Shack and Jack & Stella
- Handle payment transactions in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean and tidy workspace - thorough cleaning of equipment daily
- Perform opening and closing procedures as required
Customer Service:
- Greet all customers as they pass by Georgies and promote the products.
- Have thorough knowledge of our smoothie & ice cream flavours
- Provide additional suggestions to complement each order, Add-ons (e.g. dips, scoops) and upsell to bigger packs
- Provide quality food to customers
- Promote the branding by connecting with customers and taking content for the social medias.
Requirements:
- Previous retail or restaurant experience considered an asset
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Cash handling experience required, including the use of point of sales systems
- Food Handling certification required
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to adhere to all Jack & Stella operating policies and programs
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Flexible and willing to perform many different tasks
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time and lift or move objects up to 25lbs
Schedule:
Days: 3-5 days per week
Hours: Up to 25 hours
Shifts: 11am-4pm**
Compensation:
$17.60/ hour + percentage of tips based on overall daily sales from each shift.
Contract:
Mid/end June start- September 7th end.
**NOTE: Jack & Stella reserves the right to modify shifts slightly, subject to what is needed and weather dependant.
We require that all Crew members give us their utmost commitment to staying for Labour Day weekend.
Jack & Stella stays open until the Cranberry Festival (mid-October) with modified hours. In your application, you can note if you are able to work additional hours into the fall.
