Full Time - The Lounge: Bartender
Role Summary: The Lounge Bartender is the face of The Lounge and responsible for creating a cool and inviting atmosphere. In this position, you are responsible for greeting all our guests, and ensuring they have a memorable experience.You will be making and serving our quality beverages and handling all payment transactions coming from the back bar. This role requires knowledge of the wine, beer and signature cocktails that we offer. This position requires knowledge of our food menu items to make recommendations to guests, as well as events that we are holding to help promote the Jack & Stella brand and experience. As a main point of contact for guests, you must enjoy engaging with customers and thrive working in fast-paced environments. This role will work closely with our Lead Bartender, to discuss sales strategies for our Wine Bottle Shop and notify when stock levels of ingredients are low.

Responsibilities:
Quality Control
- Working effectively with the Lounge team and complying with company procedures and food/ drink handling/ safety policies.
- Keeping station sanitary and organized throughout the shift.
- Operating in an efficient and cleanly manner.
- Ensuring new ingredients are rotated, labelled and tagged with dates as it comes in.
- Maintaining a high quality and accuracy of cocktails and drinks served, as well as getting them out in a timely manner.
Customer Service
- Greet all customers as they arrive at the bar.
- Serve/ deliver drinks in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Be quick on your feet, with a polite and friendly attitude.
- Take pride in being an integral part of the Jack & Stella experience.
Inventory Management
- Overseeing levels of bar mixes and ingredients/ informing when stock levels are low, informing when levels are low.
- Restocking everything at the end of shift and capturing information on standardized stock sheets.
Opening/Closing
- Maintain a clean and tidy workspace, especially during close/ open.
- Removing trash and clearing storage bins.
- Perform opening and closing duties as outlined.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Previous serving or bartending experience considered an asset.
- Ontario Smart Serve certification required.
- Must be able to adhere to all Jack & Stella operating policies and programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others and work as a team.
- Responsible, clean, patient and trustworthy.
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time and lift or move objects up to 25lbs.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Flexible and willing to perform many different tasks
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
Schedule:
Days: 5-6 days per week
Hours: Up to 40 hours**
Shifts: 12:00PM-4:00pm, 6:00PM-10:00PM, 2:00PM-10:00PM**
Compensation:
$18/hour + a percentage of tips based on overall daily sales from each shift.
Contract:
May/ June start- September 1 end.
We require that all Jack & Stella crew give us their utmost commitment to staying for Labour Day weekend.
Jack & Stella also stays open until the Cranberry Festival in Bala (weekend after Thanksgiving) with modified hours. In your application, please note if you are able to work additional hours in the fall.
